Minorities and Artificial Intelligence Discussed at the 10th European Forum of Minority Regions
The Kosovo Youth Union Association, a member of the Federal Union of European Nationalities (FUEN), participated in the 10th European Forum of Minority Regions held in Chur, Switzerland. The association was represented by Sevgi Buş Kika, advisor to Deputy Prime Minister Fikrim Damka and a member of the association.
This year’s forum was organized under the theme “Minorities and Artificial Intelligence: Risks and Promises”, focusing on the future of minority languages, the impact of artificial intelligence on communities, and the opportunities and challenges of the digital age.
The forum brought together representatives, experts, and civil society organizations from various countries. Participants shared experiences and initiatives carried out under the leadership of Fikrim Damka, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo for Communities and Cooperation. Approaches aimed at protecting and advancing community rights, as well as building an inclusive society where everyone feels equal, free, and secure, were also presented.
The event further highlighted the importance of preserving and promoting linguistic and cultural heritage in the digital environment while exploring the new opportunities that artificial intelligence offers to minority communities.
The importance of continuing efforts to enhance the visibility of communities on international platforms, preserve cultural identity in the digital world, and pass it on to future generations was also emphasized.
